Why has this never been remade?
Quote:
CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON
Carl Erik Rinsch is the new director for Universal's planned remake of Creature From The Black Lagoon, after Breck Eisner eventually passed on the project. A new script is reportedly being worked on.

I'd love a film based on Bouelle's novel (that would do away with Burton's universe).
Quote:
PLANET OF THE APES
The last attempt to reboot the Planet Of The Apes franchise hardly went to plan, but that's not stopped Fox from investigating another attempt. The current status of the next Apes film is that Jamie Moss (Street Kings) has been hired to rework a script by Scott Frank (Minority Report). There's no director attached at the moment, given that Frank was set to take on helming duties before a fresh writer was hired. But work continues on the script for the time being.

I know dozens of TV programs have attempted it, but I'd love a new series that had the feel of James Garner's Rockford.
Quote:
ROCKFORD
NBC's reboot of The Rockford Files is at the pilot episode stage, with Dermot Mulroney taking the lead role. Also on board is Alan Tudyk, and the pilot is set to shoot first, with the aim clearly of getting a full season commission.

I've heard the Planet of the Apes movie that is under development is set in present day earth (or close) and gives the account of the rise of the apes (through some genetic accident).

I also like that these studios have to constantly put out Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Fantastic Four movies, or they'll lose the rights.

Bad idea.

I saw a trailer for the movie Link in the theater. It was supposed to be a horror movie but the audience was giggling throughout. When the orangutan showed up on screen the audience roared in laughter.

Did anyone see the '50s original of Creature From the Black Lagoon in 3D? Was there a 3D release? I saw a normal print on the big screen, fun and nasty stuff.

I saw "Return of the Creature" in 3d (which was the sequel. First thing I ever saw in 3D.

Why does ALIEN need a reboot?

However, I am all over any and all attempts to make a DUNE movie. It'll suck, I'm sure, but I just love that people keep wanting to try

And, as much as I think it is completely unnecessary, I can actually see a good movie being made out of a remake/reimagining of VIDEODROME. Our age of teh intertoobz could make this even more interesting than the original. Maybe.

Dune was already remade as a far superior TV mini-series and there was a sequel to that as well.

I'd like to see a remake of Jurassic Park. But instead of Dinosaurs, they would have 80's pop stars like George Michael terrorizing people in the park by threatening to release all-new CDs.
:)

I remember sometime in the early 80s wearing the glasses and watching it on TV. I'm pretty sure it didn't work.

That's scarier than any recent horror movie, Francine.

"OH MY GOD! LOOK! IT'S ANDREW RIDGELY AND JOHN OATES! RUN!"

Actually, Hall & Oates are ok. Darel Hall has a website where he posts vids. There's one of him and KT Tunstall singing a song called Out Of Touch. KT sings and plays xylaphone in it. :ohyes:
