Here's shots of our "Snow Derek," a snowman my brother and I just made after we finished
shoveling. I did most of him, with my brother bringing me snow and assisting. Derek is my
niece's husband, and we thought he kind of looked like him (just bigger and made of snow)

A couple weeks ago my daughter and I put together this guy. He was short so we made him kneeling. She gave him that tonsure look so we decided he was praying. It being a bright sunny day, we thought he was praying for more snow. Two days later we got about 2 feet.

Snow Derek is on our front porch steps, so a lot of traffic has been slowing down
all day just get a look at him. :yay:

However, it's quite warm now, so Derek hasn't got long for this world.
Plus, I'm only two blocks from the high school. :-(

That is awesome!

I'm guessing you don't use your front door much though, it looks like it pretty much blocks it

The praying guy is cool too! a little creepy :)

Thanks. Yeah, the door has a sign on it that says to come around to the side. Our porch these
days is more for storage.

Thanks, Rich. I enjoy doing things like that, but shoveling wet snow and then bending and
packing it into that Snow Derek have just reminded me that... well, I'm OLD. :luddite:

Awesome snow man Beach.

Too bad about its forthcoming parting.

Cool snowman, but naming him after a live person could cause some bad juju when he starts melting. You shouldn't tempt the dark forces. I'd rename him quick.

Thanks.

However, "Snow Derek" melted a long time ago.
I just bumped this one looking for the thread so that I could link it to Brotoro's
thread on the ice hands:

Same porch steps, different frozen water.

Snow isn't sticky, hence the ice hands instead.

Oh, that's ridiculous. "Quick" would be a stupid name for a snowman.
