I've always loved the various Christmas and holiday-themed comics specials, especially the ones that DC has published over the years. So much so that it's difficult to pick one single comic, much less one story as my absolute favourite. However, for all-around holiday goodness, you can't beat this one.
There are several awesome stories in this one. Paul Chadwick creates a wonderful Superman story that's as down-to-earth as it is magical, and Dave Gibbons and Gray Morrow did an awesome montage-type story of Christmases through the years in the Batcave. It also contains a cool Barry Allen/Hal Jordan story from the satellite JLA-era, a Wonder Woman tale by Eric Shanower, and John Byrne's excellent Enemy Ace tale, told entirely without words and appropriately entitled "Silent Night." Finally, it includes a truly excellent Deadman story by Alan Brennert and Dick Giordano. Best all-around Christmas special that DC ever published.
So what are some of your favourite holiday comics and stories? Surely there's a few people around here who aren't still out shopping...

"The Silent Night of the Batman," from BATMAN # 219. Good choice.

My favorite X-Mas issue still stands, but I'll look and see what else I've enjoyed.

The Ann Nocenti/John Romita Jr./Al Williamson Daredevil run had some good Christmas stories, and Ann wrote a nice follow-up in one of the Marvel Holiday specials in the early 1990s. There was a nice Franklin Richards story in one of those Holiday Specials by Walt Simonson and Art Adams, too. My favorite Marvel Christmas story, and probably my favorite Marvel comic, is "Moleman's Christmas," from the 2005 Marvel Holiday Special. Drawn by Roger Langridge and Al Gordon, and written by my wife with an assist from me. Can't top that for Christmas memories:

I liked the old Marvel Holiday specials. Carl Barks' "Christmas for Shacktown" and The Steamshovel story, an early Uncle Scrooge tale.

I don't give a rat's patootie about Christmas, but I own the issue featured in Kevin's initial post, and I like it a lot. Its predecessor had some fun stuff in it, too. The Robin bit cracks me up...although I wonder where the hell his other pixie boot ran off to.

I like the Darkseid one Kevin. One of my all time favorites. It shows how tuff Santa is!
But I think I'm with Kurt. My favorite is the Teen Titans take on a Christmas Carol.

The cover to that MTU #1 always surprises me, as it's not really very "first issue!"-looking, you know? The camera is behind the heroes (who are getting their asses kicked, BTW), and you don't even see the Torch's face. Not exactly an iconic image, IMO.
I picked up issues two and three of MTU for fifty cents apiece -- no, that's not a typo -- in the cheapie box at Showcase Comics in Bryn Mawr, PA back in 1994. I about fell over when I saw them in there, and in very good condition, to boot. When I was ringing out, the dude at the register told me that someone had snapped up number one for the same price not half an hour before me. Can you believe that shit? Man.

Does anyone have a list of Batman Christmas stories? I've been breaking my head trying to find a particular story I vaguely remember.

I can't find one yet; why not share what you remember of the story and see if any of us can name it?

Those were exactly the two I was thinking of. The Looker one did not hit me as strongly!
