I just had some rockin' "Chinese food" leftovers: some spicy Mongolian beef & onions, with the house (spicey) Low Mein. It was from Saturday, and it was great. Chinese food is usually pretty damn good leftover.
What else is great leftover?
Pizza is good, but only if reheated in the oven.
Mac & cheese? One of the great leftovers.
What else?

Cold pizza. Cold meatloaf. Cold potato pancakes. Cold turkey and stuffing.
Best leftovers are probably the cold cuts and accoutrements the day after a party. Two days if you're lucky.

Roast potatoes -
Also stonking hot (spicy) curry - great for breakfast if you've been on the lash the night before.

My mother-in-law makes the best stuffing in the known world ... but I rarely eat it the first night. She makes a TON extra knowing how much I love it, so I end up eating it for a week after Thanksgiving each year. It's great!

Gumbo is always better after being refrigerated and reheated.
Always.

Lasagna and baked ziti are always MUCH better the second time around.

I'm with Taft on the leftover pizza thing. Must be re-heated, and only in the oven, never the micowave.
As a general leftover rule, if it was served hot to begin with, it must be served hot as a leftover. I have no use for cold pizza, chicken, turkey etc. Warm that shit up before you eat it.
Heathens.

Mashed potatoes and gravy.
Anything containing potatoes is going to be fantastic, because the cooling and reheating breaks the starch down into sugar.

How do you reheat mashed potatoes? I'd easily place them in my "worst leftovers," but maybe I'm doing it wrong.

I don't accept that. I prefer it to be heated. I don't go for cold food all that much. Sandwiches mostly.

Cold pizza for breakfast or snack. With a ton of garlic on it.
I hate the way pizza gets when reheated.

Nuke 'em.
In a cereal bowl for a minute on high, stir and repeat until they're the desired temperature. I'm fine doing it together with the gravy and stirring them together, but you may prefer to nuke the gravy seperately.

I'll go with turkey and stuffing, but reheated. If I'm gonna eat cold turkey, it's going to be surrounded by two pieces of bread (mayo on one piece, horseradish on the other) and sprinkles of salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

We basically lived on leftovers like that from our wedding reception during our honeymoon. They packed us a whole basket full of them just before we took off. The chocolate-covered strawberries were especially nice. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned cold Kentucky Fried Chicken yet. It's great!
