The She-Hulk title has been cancelled.

I have my own feelings about why, but they really don't matter.

Well, although Dan Slott had a lot of haters among
some She-Hulk fans, traffic on my She-Hulk message
board died off after Slott left the book. It also didn't help
that either because of my age or the demands of my job,
I'm just not as interested in comics as I used to be.

Fifty issues is a very respectable run, but I'm going to try
to fight this. Not just for Peter David, but for all the people
on both the Dan Slott message board as well as the She-Hulk
message board who are angered and saddened by this news.
I figure that if fans make enough of a big noise, they'll make
Marvel realize they EXIST and keep the character around. If
she can't have her own book, I'd still like to read about She-Hulk's
adventures in a group book----like perhaps Dan Slott's The Mighty
Avengers. I also don't want Marvel to think she's expendable and
kill her off for shock value, like they did with Scott Lang (Ant Man II)
or Bill Foster (Goliath).

The hardest thing I'm going to have to do is convince angry fans NOT
to send e-mails to Marvel. Marvel editors aren't impressed with e-mails.
They are impressed with fans who write (or print) letters on paper and
send them by SNAIL MAIL.

I was never into this book but I do know she had a devoted following.

Also cancelled was Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate FF-apparently some kind of Ultimate line change is in the making

and Claremont's New Exiles IIRC.

I stopped reading the David run on She-Hulk earlier this year. At least I wasn't still reading it or Ulitmate X-Men anymore, or I'd have 3 books cancelled on me by Marvel with Spider-Girl going away after issue 30.

Slott had haters? I (and many others) left the book when Slott left.

I really enjoyed the book under Slott, I gave David a shot but lost interest after a while.

I dropped the book a couple of issues after David took over. They should give Exiles to Slott. That could be a fun title.

Well, they are doing Ultimatum which is going to upset the Ultimate universe(supposedly). I stopped reading Ultimate X-Men in the mid-90's, stopping short of my plan to pick up the first 100 issues......

I dropped She-Hulk last month. I usually like PAD, but this was not among PAD's better stuff.

I bought the first 9 or so issues of New Exiles, but stopped reading it around #3. I like Tom Grummett's art, but not enough to wade through a Claremont script.

I liked Slott and had gotten the trades of his issues. Once PAD took over, dropped it like a hot potato. Sick of his comedy stuff.

Wasn't even comedy. It tried to be half buddy-cop and half straight-up superhero and didn't seem to follow at all what came before.

That was why I eventually dropped it, too bad.

Too many people are upset at this. I owe it to them---if not myself---
to start a campaign to save the book.

Do I expect it to work? No, and if any book deserves to be saved,
I believe Spider-Girl's fans deserve it more. However, if we yell loud
enough, I believe I can make Marvel realize that She-Hulk fans EXIST
and that there are a lot more of them around than they realize.

She-Hulk has more fans than Peter David, that was the problem.

Peter David has a lot of fans, but not as many as
Bendis! or Millar, and they won't blindly buy everything
he writes in droves. There were Peter David fans who
weren't buying She-Hulk because they preferred Dan Slott's
take on the character.

That's another thing I want to do although it won't save the
book. I want She-Hulk fans to write "thank you" letters to
PAD so he'll know how much he was appreciated.

I feel Peter David's take on She-Hulk was very derivative of other chemistries and ideas he's used in his other books... most notably the odd couple relationship between She-Hulk and Jazinda, which to me felt a little too much like that of Marlo and her ghost buddy from PAD's Captain Marvel series. I feel his humor is probably a little stale at this point as well. He's not really breaking any new ground anymore or exploring as wild ideas.

I felt that Secret Invasion tied up the book too much. It didn't help that as it went on, the art on the book got weaker and weaker.
