I liked JLU starring Gypsy this month. Wonder Woman is intriguing, though I'm not sure if I will stay with it (I like the Terry Dodson art). JSA had some really nice Jerry Ordway art, and I'm intrigued by the story. 52 has a 25 foot woman in it. Blood of the Demon has some Demon blood in it.

Wonder Woman had a 50-foot woman in it. :-)

I actually found the new Wonder Woman to be a fun read. Nice artwork, good story, some fun OYL twists, plus the return of a favorite character of mine. It really surprised me.

I've liked Batman and Detective OYL (though it continues the DC trend of graphic violence) and Superman to a lesser degree.

I only picked up Blood of the Demon and Jonah Hex by DC this week, plus some Marvel and others, but I enjoyed the two DC books I did buy.

Wonder Woman was enjoyable to me. The way it ended has lots of potential and I'm hoping they meet it.

Only things I liked were the return of the secret identity (it really never should have been eliminated) and a rather youthful looking Steve Trevor. At least the groundwork if laid for a proper return to form.

Still way too much wringing of the hands about how these heroes aren't acting heroicly. Just get the hell on with it. Just have them stop twisting people's heads off and there goes half your problem.

And, seriously, we're leading with the most confusing origin story in the known multiverse? Was Cable not available?

Although I did enjoy Wonder Woman for what it was, my problem was that it didn't feel -- for lack of a better phrase -- "first issuey" enough. I kept asking myself what it was about this story that necessitated cancelling the previous iteration of the title and restarting it. Was there anything about it that couldn't simply have been done by picking things up One Year Later? And, for that matter, does it really provide a good intro to the character for someone who's jumping in cold?

Now that I've actually read it instead of skimming it.

Good they returned Donna Troy to her only non-confusing origin. The tyranny of the Continuity-Mucking Reboots is over. Long live everything they tried to get rid of :)

This is just as much a continuity-mucking reboot as all the others, then. It's a better one, is all!

The problem is all this fixing crap and year one stories. They cause 90% of the continuity problems. Stop fixing the past and move on and tell good stories.

And don't make them obviously tied into a time period.

Don't they have any editors with brains? Minor tweaks could eliminate continuity issues.

And if I read one more story about Batman's or Superman's early years I will scream.

I kinda like retellings and Year One stories. I just don't try to get hung up on where it all fits.

I used to like them but I think 99% of them are unneccessary.

I'm with ya Alan. I just read that the new Superman and Batman Confidential titles are going to be about exactly that, clarifying and re-telling the characters' early histories. Because, clearly, that's never been done before.

At this point I want to take that big hardcover DC Encyclopedia I dropped 30 bones on a few years back and kick it out the window.

Its funny how even with all the multiple Earths, it was never as confusing as it is now.

What makes it worse is that it's needlessly so.

I always thought the multiple Earths made things simpler and cleaner.
