I've been talking to Roger Slifer, former editor, writer and colorist at both Marvel and DC Comics, and writer for G.I. JOE and JEM as well as a producer on the first season of YU-GI-OH. Now he has this very interesting graphic novel project, which he's trying to fund using a program you may also find interesting, Kickstarter. His idea for the malcontents, about victims of a futuristic healthcare center banding for the fight of their lives, and his design work with artists such as Ed Hannigan are all discussed in a clip on his site.

But why not check it out for yourself? The concept itself and the method were each illuminating to me.
