I didn't know where to post this as it might attract some ridicule in the wrong place,so I put it in the "playroom". What I'm going to tell you is true.

If I get a cd that which has liner notes that are in any way creased, or have what are known in the trade as "horseshoes" (in plain-speak that's the impression that the retaining knobs can sometimes leave on the liner notes) then I iron them.Yes,you read correctly-I iron them, using an iron on on the next to cool setting for delicates.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend anyone to follow what I do,as if you get the iron too hot it can stick the pages together or fade to booklet badly.

No ridicule here. Other than the standard IMWAN ridicule every member gets...

A friend called me the other day and asked if I knew of a way to get a crease out of a certificate he received for his martial arts. I told him to iron it - low setting with a thin t-shirt type cloth over it. Maybe just a hint of steam, but not much. Worked like a charm.

I have like 14,000 CDs, and if you open every one of them (well, the ones in jewel boxes anyway), you'll find the print on the disc right-side-up, so it's easy to read. Sometimes I take out CDs at random, just to check.

HA!
A buddy of mine got me doing that.
I watched him putting some cds back in the cases, and he always turned them with the title always facing correctly.
He said that "it's easier to read them that way".
And it stuck with me. I've done it ever since.

But do you laminate them after you've ironed them out and file them away so you get to them easily later?

Jimbo,
I don't understand the bit,"you'll find the print on the disc side up,so it's easy to read" :o
But 14,000 CDs

I don't iron my clothes either. So you could say I have an immaculate collection of CDs (but no Madonna) Ha Ha !! , and a rather creased wardrobe.

DL.
If I ever start laminating I'll just sit tight and wait for them to come and take me away.

You'll never learn to think like a librarian.

I had an ex-girlfriend who opened my cd's and aasked me why i never played them...she couldn't fathom the lack of scratches and fingerprints...and she always seemed amazed that they didn't "skip" when played...

I know a guy who uses an iron to make grilled cheese sammiches.

Does that make more or less sense than the CD liner notes thing?
