Okay, Star Trek: The Next Generation is over 20 years old. Presume for just a moment that a reboot was being done of it after the new movie. Who would you cast in place of the original cast?

By the way, I really don't know if I care about this topic at all, I just wanted to start a thread about something original and said, "hey, if I pick something that has been done before about something that has been done before in a way that is being redone now, it'll be totally original!"

Wesley Crusher -- Hayden Christensen ***** Is he whiney enough? Or nearly annoying enough? I mean he is good, but that would be work to get there!

Why reboot what doesn't need rebooting?? It's fine as is. Hollywood needs to look forward, not backward.

I just figured he gets a comparable level of hatred and contempt from the sci-fi fans. Seemed like a good fit. Alternate option if Christensen is not available: the CGI'd image of Jar Jar Binks.

Jake Lloyd is probably the right age, now that I think of it. But look at it this way -- Wil Wheaton was liked before TNG by virtue of his performance in Stand By Me.
