From TwoMorrows Publishing comes a new quarterly retro horror magazine, Cryptology!

Man, I love this stuff. The first issue covers:

Story 1: What it was like collecting Bernie Wrightson comics when he first hit the scene, with dozens of gorgeous images of his intro pages for House of Mystery, Creepy, etc.
Story 2: Comparison of the Adams Family and the Munsters
Story 3: Monster Family Merch: Adams Family and Munsters toys and games
Story 4: Adams Family and Munster comics from Gold Key
Story 6: Killer B's - an examination of the movie The Mad Monster
Story 5: Comparison of Atlas-era horror covers that were redrawn in the '70s for Marvel's horror reprint line
Story 6: Discussing movie adaptions of Edgar Allen Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher
Story 7: Discussing comics adaptions of Edgar Allen Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher
Story 8: Hammer Time: an examination of Hammer Film's The Devil Rides Out
Story 9: Horror Comics Excess: Discussing the impact of the Comics Code's impact when it debuted in 1954.

It's just packed full of cool pics, too. Some stuff I found online that appears in the magazine:

That looks very fun. I have both the comics those Wrightson pics are from. I think that Munsters board game box art is by Mad magazine's Bob Clarke.
Next time I am in Ottawa I'll have to try to find this.

I'm in love with that Tom Sutton Poe double-page. Man, that guy is so under-rated.

Yes, Sutton was great. His humour work was as beautiful as his horror.

Bannings: One too few . . .
Totes. I had that mag on my pull for months -- came in during October for me. Between that mag, and RetroFan (check it out!), I'm all set.

I have every issue of RetroFan (it's in the 40's or so issues). Wouldn't miss it. This one will be no different.
