It's hard to choose, but I think my vote goes to Dave Cockrum. His designs are iconic. His style is timeless. I also want to vote for Jim Lee. While a controversial choice, his X-Men costumes are ingrained in my generation. Not enough for a vote, but I absolutely love his Green Lantern costume redesign from a few years back, it was fantastic. His Catwoman looks great too. EDIT: This is the GL costume I'm talking about. A nice modernisation IMO. Wouldn't work for Hal, but I think it is great for Kyle.

Good idea for a thread, Prowl!
I voted for Jack Kirby. He's my favourite.

Gil Kane, don't even have to think about it. He created Hal Jordan AND Barry Allen's duds.

He did? Huh. I always though Barry was a Carmine Infantino design!

I voted Cockrum, but Gil Kane would have been my choice if he wasn't in there. Much as I like Perez, he really doesn't have a flair for costume design and I'll be surprised if he gets any votes here.

I wish all those guys had designed actual fashion in real life. I can just imagine Vogue magazine running articles with titles like "Kirby's new season winter headgear" or "Cockrum's buccaneer boots are the new black", etc.

'' I don't think Byrne has much of a costume sense either. FF and brown-Wolverine are the only ones that spring to mind that I REALLY liked. It's not that they're usually bad, just not ones I generally find to be memorable.

Cockrum. His X-Men designs are absolutely great.

Cockrum. I think that his costume designs had as much of an effect on readers as his art. His first few issues of Superboy (Legion) were filled with multiple "Wow!" moments. And Ditko. Blue Beetle, Creeper, Hawk & Dove... classic designs that are timeless. Still as cool today as they were forty years ago.

I really considered Ditko, but voted for Cockrum.
I gave serious thought to "someone else", that someone being Mike Grell.

Cockrum is awesome, so is Ditko, but i still voted Kirby. For the quantity of great costumes.

Cockrum. Always liked his X-Men designs. When I learned he also designed the Black Cat's costume, he became my favorite for life.

Torn between choosing Ditko or Cockrum.
Interesting to see that so many of us were considering those same two guys.

Had to give it to Kirby, but Cockrum was a close second.

Despite the awesomeness of Spidey, I wouldn't really give Ditko serious consideration for his costumes overall-- Speedball alone disqualifies him.

I am considering voting for Ditko on the strength of Spider-man alone.

No one has mentioned Peter and Paul Gambi.
So I will.
