the power rangers were great untill that bloke with the pony tail joined them & became the "gold ranger" (i think) & it became almost all about him...
unlike california dreams which actually got better when they introduced the new characters

I believe that Tommy was the mysterious Green Ranger, and then the White Ranger?
I don't remember a Gold Ranger.
My son ate this stuff up. He received a Power Ranger Raygun as a present, and wore it on his hip until the thing fell to pieces.

Power Rangers was stereo typical
The black Ranger wore Black
The girl ranger wore Pink
The asian wore yellow
The irish catholic wore green
the protestant wore orange.

that's like how they cut up Gatchaman for western audience and stuck in those bits with the robot:
"no kids Jason wasn't being tortured, those guys were just tickling him" (Jason IS being tortured)
"don't worry, he had an asprin and got better" (He died)
"Those were robots in those spaceships" (Those were people and they burnt to death)
This is Zoltar's sister (no kids the badguy/gal is actually an hermaphrodite)
