That's the song that turned me around on KT Tunstall. "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree" was SO overplayed I thought I'd hate anything by her, but then I heard that one, and, well, like she says, suddenly I saw.

Thanks for that, Hank. KT is very gifted and I'm really looking forward to anything new she put's out. Hopefully she'll continue to do well. Some singers seem to start out well but then disapppear after one or two hits... that seems to happen a lot lately.

Even the great, unsurpassable Alanis Morissette is having a little trouble selling as many CDs as she used to. *** Weeps ***

Every singer has his day and then becomes in essence an oldies act, even if they do new material. People like Elton John who have charting airplay for decade after decade are extremely rare.

All of that said, the internet and bypassing the corporate music structure is going to allow lengthy artists to produce new material economically for what, through time, becomes a niche audience. Now is in so many ways a great time to be alive.
