Often when I'm out with friends, I get hungry.

So I buy food.

This is starting to add up.

It needs to stop.

Any ideas how I can do this?

Brown-bag it. Bring food with you from home. It'll cost one-tenth what you're spending at fast food places and drugstores.

Don't go out with your friends, or if you do, mooch?

I know what you mean, during my move to my new house I was without a home for 2 weeks and ate lunch and dinner out the entire time. Ran up a bill of around $350.00. Nuts.

Stop ordering lobster and prime rib.

A pocket full of food works wonders.

Used to be a running gag that I always had something to eat with me when we went out. Because it was true. I often did.

That is a rather good idea.

QFT! I'd have gone bankrupt long ago if I didn't do that. Although in my case I live close enough to home to walk there and make my own lunch during lunch break.

Part of being a teenager is spending a lot of money on crap food.

and sneaking into movies. Never see less than two movies in a row, and never pay for more than one.

or go to Taco Bell. They are pretty cheap. Or order off the dollar menu.

and mooch. Mooch from friends with more money. True, you'll be the mooch of the group. Every group has one.

But here is truth-90% chance, at best, you will know exactly one of these people ten years from now.

So mooch and feel good about it

or stop at friend's houses and all you guys/girls can raid the fridge of whoever's home it is.

it's all part of growing up.

or get a job. if you have one (never checked to see how that thread worked out) work more.

more money = more food.

or, best of all, become friends with someone who works at a pizza place or fast food place.

Stop there during the day. if they can't at least give you a free burger, they aren't your friend.

Key-stop there at the end of the day. They will be looking to unload food. The pizza place will have pies and garlic knots and all sorts of crap they need to get rid of and will send home with a worker.

Maximize this by placing an order about 30 mins before they close. when no one comes to pick it up, you'll have a fresh pie your friend can take home.

or keep doing what you are doing and whine about it. It's the American way when you are growing up. Never again will you get away with such whining.

None of my friends have any more money than I do, and I often do raid other people's homes.

I only have one friend who works.

He works at a department store.

I have like $40 in my wallet (I think).

That's all I'll have for a while.

I don't want to be spending all my money on food.

Less food (as long as you don't go to extremes) generally means a longer, healthy life.
Plus, you have more money leftover to buy more comics.

Sorry you're in kind of a spot right now. Sounds like my grad school days.

You can eat PBJ sandwiches for lunch most days for years and save lots of money.

And in the evening ramen noodles and potted meat will go a ways. And applesauce.
