The Matrix. Even though the sequels were terrible, it still stands out.

Not many good ones. My Own Private Idaho, A Scanner Darkly, and The Matrix might be it. Horrible actor. Works best when he's playing stoned, vapid characters. Writing in incomplete sentences.

Haven't seen John Wick yet, but The Matrix is his best by far.

The Matrix is my favourite by far of his movies but a movie of his I like not in the poll is The Replacements. It's not a great acted movie and the story is pretty predictable and yet I watch it whenever it's on TV and it's on TV a lot.

I know that The Matrix is Keannu Reeves' most successful movie, but A Scanner Darkly is the movie where he did his best acting in my opinion. Also, the ending to A Scanner Darkly is devastating so even though The Matrix is a fun film, I have to go with Scanner.

Writing in incomplete sentences. Wish I could argue with you, but I can't. Reeves is best when a role is written around him and his acting weakness. I think the number one reason why the Matrix sequels suffered is that the plot demanded character development on the part of Neo, which Reeves just couldn't express. He couldn't do for that trilogy what Mark Hamill did for Episodes IV-VI of the Star Wars trilogy. But on the other hand, Keanu Reeves gave away most of the money he earned from the Matrix films to charity, and he didn't blow a trumpet while doing so. So although I think that as an ACTOR, he has limited gifts, as a PERSON and a HUMAN BEING he probably is one of the best people in Hollywood.

I still like the original Bill & Ted best, though Speed and The Matrix are also pretty enjoyable.

The Matrix doesn't hold up that well for me. Probably because it's been so tainted by the sequels.
I'm going with John Wick until they make a sequel of that.

The Matrix is cool, but I don't think it ages as well as other sci-fi classics like Alien or T2 because a lot of the cool stuff it did has been done to death and looks cheesy now -- the wire-fu, the camera effects, the black leather look, etc. It's still good, but I don't look back on it as fondly as I do some of the other movies of its influence.
