I'll believe it when they finally get the film into post-production.

He was probably third guy on the left or Waiter #3 who had the memorable line "Would you care for more coffee?"

I saw his work on One Life To Live (yes I am a soap fan)...and I think he has the look for the part...he just needs to beef up a little.

Hey, it was Bryan Singers fault, not ours. If he had stuck with the X-Men movies he wouldn't have made Stupidman Returns.

I enjoyed "Superman Returns." It's not the story I would have written, but it was cool to see Superman back on screen with John Williams' theme and all.

Superman Returns did something no other comic movie has ever done. It completely bored me. But I made it all the way through it and I never have to watch it again. I doubt I'll bother with the coming sequel. I can't see them doing much with it.

I thought Superman Returns was dull - Routh just didn't do a good job. I guess you could blame the director - but X2 was so great, I just see the film's failure as Routh's fault. I liked Spacey's Luthor - thought he did a great job - but Routh was a non-starter.

He just didn't have 'it'.

Superman Returns actually happened? Yeah, RIGHT...

Next you will tell me he lifted an entire island of kryptonite.

Superman Returns has a lot of faults, it's true - but I think I can defend the lifting the kryptonite island thing.

Superman knew what the island was made with which is why he A) flew close to the sun to power up, and B) flew into the ocean and used his heat vision to cut the earth below the expanding kryptonite so that he could lift the island without touching the kryptonite. As soon as the kryptonite starts to expand beyond the earth he is holding, he correctly weakens and lets go falling to earth just as the island leaves the atmosphere. I think he knew he would never be able to lift the island without risking his life and that makes it a heroic moment.

Now, the narrative hole they have written themselves into by introducing the kid, that I can't help you with.

Have you seen Ang Lee's "Hulk"?

I agree about SR, by the way. Geez what a snoozer. Even when he's doing actual cool stuff, there's some kind of weird emotional detachment from me. I didn't expect that to happen at all.

I thought Routh was perfect as Superman and all wrong as Clark Kent.

I'd like to see them get past the Donner storyline. Just stop mining it and go on to something else.

I saw Superman Returns a few weeks ago. Not terrible by any means, but not one of my more favorite Superman movies. It had some very fun, cool moments.

It didn't completely bore me, but they could have edited about 40 minutes out IMO and it wouldn't have hurt the story at all.

Yeah, that bothered me a bit. Not having read a lot of Superman comics, I don't know if that's the norm for him, but I'm guessing not.

Yeah, I agree with that. On another note, altho I thought Spacey did a great job of Luthor, and wouldn't mind seeing him back, they really need to find some other bad guys for Superman to unload on big time.

Like I said, not terrible, but not as exciting as I had hoped.

I'd like to see a live action version of the Dini/Timm Brainiac (from the animated serie's first season) in a movie. Or if you're going to use Luthor, have him use a Revenge Squad with Parasite and the Kryptonite Man and Titano.

I haven't heard anything about a sequel for Superman Returns. Is there one? I don't see anything in IMDB either.

I'm not eagerly anticipating one, the more I see of Superman Returns, the less I like it, but I'm curious what the franchise is going to do next if anything.

They've talked about it. It was supposed to come out next year, but now 2010. Singer has hinted it will involve an alien bad guy and more action.

Speculation is either Zod or Braniac.

I think they also mentioned that new writers have been brought in, so the strike probably delayed things for awhile.
