Oh, hell, YEAH. That's a great pairing. I've not read any of Slott's work (to the best of my knowledge), but I've read/listened to a number of his interviews and I love his attitude on comics.

And Romita Jr. is, of course, painfully excellent. Just awesome. I look forward to this.

Me too. I picked up the 'Back in Black' storyline in ASM and was underwhelmed (except for Ron Garney's great art). I'm now plannign on sticking with it through 'One More Day' and into the run by this creative team supreme.

I was planning on getting the thrice-monthly Spider-Man anyway, but this is great news.

I buy everything that Slott does.

JR Jr. is premium brand ice cream on that gourmet cake.

Great news.

I think Romita Jr may end up topping his previous runs on the character with Slott.

1. He's been doing the best work of his career (World War Hulk, Eternals) after leaving Spider-Man.

2. He's been limited a bit by previous writers. Mackie sucked, but aside from that, generally focused only on crime stories. JMS had Romita drawing several issues worth of battles with generic new villains. I think Slott's going to have Romita draw what the fans want to see him draw. The A-list villains. New villains. Guest-starrs.

They had me at Slott. But they lost me. I dare not re-explain why. ;)

They had me at Slott and JRjr, but they've still lost me with Quesada.

You're not one of the 6 people on the planet that don't "get" JrJr, are you?

:ohno:

:sigh: I'll say it again then. JRjr...great layouts, one of the best storytellers in the biz. His ability to capture a style that works for both cosmic and up-close-and-personal stories is beyond compare.
But...I can't stand the way it looks at the end. Too many lines, too "scratchy" penciling (made even more striking/distracting when he's working with Klaus Janson on inks), and all the faces are very similar (along with being covered with pencil lines), and the women are ugly. Doesn't work for me.
But I'll never say anything bad about JRjr, he's a great talent...just not my thing.

I'm with Jeff -- I think JRjr is a fantastic artist...

...whose style is not to my aesthetic liking.

Pfft.

Dan Slott's ok.

But I am happy to see Junior back again.

Happy to hear JRjr is coming back. However, if the end result of "One More Day" is the dissolution of the marriage, then I won't be around to see it.
