Lenny Clarke's playing another cop on the squad, but doesn't seem to be a direct analog of any of the original characters.

I loved the first season of Life On Mars. Haven't gotten to the second (and final) season yet. Meany's a great choice for Gene Hunt, but it seems odd that they wouldn't cast an American actor for the role.

I'm halfway done with the second series. I have little interest in this US version at this point. Much more interested in Ashes to Ashes, the LoM spinoff show featuring Gene Hunt in the 80s, forced to partner with a woman.
