This is as good a place as any to post how Gen Con's been going.

Day 1 of the show was fantastic. Got to meet an old friend and his baby daughter. Saw my old boss from Denver, Scott, briefly. Tried to get a copy of Talisman for my PokerNews boss, but they sold out three people in front of me.

I played some poker and some 24 TCG, which is fun.

That evening was not so fantastic. I took a u-turn too fast and scraped my bumper real good and popped a tire. After I pulled over, it took AAA two hours to get there. The wheel itself is dented, so that's $75 tomorrow morning and I missed the show today.

Going to try and do totally different things on Saturday. Maybe some Stargate TCG, maybe some Legends of Norrath. (That's the Worlds Apart online TCG based on Everquest. It uses the mechanics of Auto Assault TCG which I playtested extensively.) Maybe that HaloClix event. I wanted to play some SW Minis but the events all look to be pretty competitive. Why no new player sealed box events, WOTC?

Also thinking about hitting the videogame area of the event hall and doing the business card thing, for some freelance dialogue or plot writing. I ought to get on Neverwinter Nights and put together something, as that's kind of the "format" of choice for those looking to break into that market.

HEROCLIX!!!

Even the Heroclix is pretty competitive here. They're actually doing a world championship for the first time!

Day 3 - the wheel's not ready till later so the best I can do is play in one evening event. Looks like Wizard World will be my con highlight of the year. Fine with me!
