Monk wants to know who's coming to Chicago for the big con, and where and when we should all meet, and whatnot. He asked me to post a thread, and since he's a big-time mod now, I decided to accede to his silly request.

This will be my first con (at the age of 37), and I'm attending solely to meet IMWANkers. This means that I expect a decent number of you jackals to show up.

So. Who's gonna be there? Where are you staying? Is there some kind of protocol for hooking up after the convention proper winds down at the ends of night one and night two?

Let eveyone know here, if you would.

I'm coming to Chicago on August 9th to visit my folks.

Man, I'd love to come to WizardWorld. If nothing else, for old times' sake.

Trevor knows how the couch thing works, and how it determines who, in fact, is whose bitch.

First time all day his lame-ass "let me pad my post count even further by just putting up a smiley" thing hasn't made me want to kick him in the teeth.

I do that really well, by the way.

And you want to sleep on his couch, Monk?

He wants to sleep in my bed, actually. But we agreed that that would be weird.

Couch it is.

When is it? (Yeah, I know I could look, but I want to raise Frank's ire by doing some padding. :) )

WizardWorld Chicago is August 9-12. And I'm sleeping on the couch because it's the one place I know there's no room for Frank to try and spoon me.

Maybe he has a couch that folds out. Did you think of that?

It could be, but it isn't. No folding, and therefore no spooning. Everybody wins.

I'll be up there on either the 11th or the 12th, but I plan on driving home the same day (unless I'm sloshed or something). It doesn't necessarily have to be inside the Con - I'd rather just grab lunch/dinner/drinks, if that's alright (basically, my whole collection at this point is either digital or in storage, so I don't have anything to get signed at the con).

I'm padding out my post count by saying I won't be there.

But have fun :D

Wow. Ian sucks twice in a single post.

Not easy to do, my friend. Kudos.

I will be there, sharing a booth three ways with Dave Ahn and Rhody Belo from Strongarm. We will have at least issues 1-4 if not the whole series for sale, plus random other projects we're working on.

Though it is a three hour drive (extremely easy), it appears we may be able to work a Roger Stern store signing around the time of the convention. Stay tuned!

I'll be there in spirit. I'm kind of imagining it to be like a cross between the ealier scenes in Chasing Amy, and the original Cannonball Run.

I'm sure comic book conventions are nothing like that...but I like to imagine that they could be.

Mix in a little D.C. CAB, and you're there.

I'm currently talking to some midwest pros about possibly stopping by the signing. So it'll be almost like a tiny convention. :) This should probably be in its own thread.

Man, a chance to hang out with Sisko and Monk and Fulton and Horton sure would be swell. Terrible week for me, though. I highly doubt I could pull this off. If there is a glimmer, I'd do it.
