I was big into the Onion for a few years after a buddy told me about it, I think back around '98 or so. I quit checking it regularly when I started seeing stuff get rerun (which I'm sure they'd been doing all along, but I finally noticed), but I'll still check back occasionally to see if there are any new columns by Herbert Kornfield or Smoove B.

My dad can eat an onion like an apple *shutter*

Anyway; I prefer them sautéed on a steak or burger. On eggs for breakfast is good too.

"Clinton Teams Up with Golden-Age Clinton" is my all time favorite Onion image.

The Onion rocks. Like SNL, I think everyone's favorite Onion era is the first year or three when they discover it, but really they've been pretty consistent over the years. I still surf in from tim to time and get a few laughs.

Heck, recently Editor & Publisher magazine, a serious publication on journalism, gave the Onion props for continuing to thrive while other print papers try to stay alive.

My favorite Onion pieces are those in which they take some really obvious, mundane thing and craft a story that makes it seem like man first stepping foot on the moon. Good stuff.

I've found that their articles often are not true. For a news site, they should be ashamed.

Their staff wasn't very funny in THE ARISTOCRATS, though. (Anyone see that movie?)
