I went with Buscema. There are artists who's work I enjoy more, but few, if any, more talented than Buscema.

I LOVE Walt and feel bad about this but I have to go with Big John! He combines a classical drawing style with Kirby power like no other! Also, if not for his book, "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way", I and many many others would not be artists. The Original JB.

Big John. I love Walt's work, but How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way actually changed my life as a fifteen year old. Profoundly. Nobody compares to him in my book.

For THOR alone, I have to go with Unca Walt.

Going with Big John here. As mentioned last round, to me, the face of Marvel was Buscema and Romita.

I'm officially stating, for the IMWAN record, that I'm backing John Buscema as the (eventual) big winner.

Just for the hell of it, and because I love the way he draws.

Buscema drew one of the most beautiful comics ever when he drew Silver Surfer #4. He was brilliant. This Walt guy...? what I can see up above doesn't appeal to me at all....

The original JB. I love both artists work, but John takes this one, even though Simonson did the best Thor(next to Kirby) that I'd ever seen.

Ian used the word "beautiful" for Silver Surfer #4, and it's true. It's a word that spills out an awful lot when you look at his comics. When I come across something of his for the first time, I swoon. I was unaware of his work on Wolverine until I recently glanced through the essential thing at the half-price bookstore (I know, I'm a little behind in my reading.) Buscema inked by Al Williamson? I almost fell over. Beautiful!

Simonson is energetic and fun but Buscema carries more power and is much more graceful.

I chose Walt Simonson, but just barely. Walt's Thor, Fantastic Four and Orion are among my all-time favorite comics, and I can't think of a badly-drawn Simonson comic. (Not that there are badly-drawn John Buscema comics out there, either.) Like I said, very close call.
