I may have gotten whiplash from how quickly I voted for Kirby. No slight intended to Aparo, there's some beautiful stuff up there, but Kirby's work just has more energy.

Come on, it's fuckin' Kirby. Why even bother letting any one else play if he's in it? This is why Roger Clemens is not allowed to pitch Little League games.

Aparo is one of my faves. Kirby isn't.

I am by no means one of the "Kirby shall win it all!" types, but he's got Aparo beat all hollow.

Aparo is great. Love the Phantom Stranger stuff and he's my favorite Batman artist. He is sitting in a place of honor in a comfortable chair at the table in Comics Artist Valhalla; but Kirby is sitting at the head of that table, eating the best piece of roast beast and filling the room with cigar smoke.

Never "got" Kirby.
Oh he's fine at what he does and all.
Just not a big fan of his artwork. Or his style. Or whatever.
His Kirby-ness.
Good luck Aparo, you're going to need it.

This one is much harder than it should be. Seriously, it is Jack Kirby, whcih means this should be no contest, but Aparo has become my definitive Batman artisst eclipsing even Neal. His run on spectre was brilliant as well....I am beginning to hate these polls. I feel like a jerk after I vote

I have to go with Kirby. Aparo is probably the better artist, but for pure dynamic energy, what comics are supposed to be, it's Jack Kirby.

Kirby over Aparo for me. I like both artists work(Aparo's Batman is still one of my favorites), but there's more energy in the Kirby pages. Plus, my sig line might have something to do with my decision.

Poor Jim. I really do love his stuff, but he's against Jack Kirby, for gosh sake!

Kirby wins by a mile, but I voted for Aparo because he suits my personal aesthetic better.

If this was best penciller, I would go with Kirby. But Aparo pencilled, inked, and lettered 95% of his work, plus he had longer runs than Kirby.
Kirby was hit and miss with me. I'm not one of those that automatically puts the stamp of approval on every Kirby story.
