I enjoyed the first movie more than most of the post-Nolan DC films. It was definitely Aquaman, but wasn't afraid to commit and go Full Superhero Simple Jack, and played less like an origin and more like issues 18-24 of an ongoing series. And at one point Aquaman drinks beer literally from sunrise to after dark with his father, then hops behind the wheel of a pickup with his semi-comatose old man listing in the passenger seat, which may have been irresponsible and not very superheroic, but it was very relatable. I'm definitely in for the sequel.
