I'm looking to learn it and despite being very tech savvy and in the IT world, I am struggling. Specifically converting existing images, like the knight watchman, into hyper realistic versions.

Any ideas or help?

I've only used free online versions with limited success. Others seem to have access to much better, more powerful
features than I can get with the slow-waiting-queue of those who don't pay for the services.

If you have a powerful computer, check out Stable Diffusion. It installs on your system. No cloud.

A bit of a learning curve though. I've been on it since early August and I'm still learning.

A graphics card with at least 4GB of VRAM
12GB or more install space. Ideally an SSD.

Those are the absolute minimum system requirements for Stable Diffusion. More is better.
