My #1 favorite dog of all-time, ARROW, has shuffled off this mortal coil. It happened in Maine, and was fast and unexpected. I don't have the words to describe what he meant to me, or how much I owe him. During the 4 straight, cold and miserable months that I lived in San Francisco (back in early 2019), he was my anchor, best friend, as well as "best thing in my life." My happiest moments during those months, were ALL shared, either alone, with him in my apartment, or out in the world with him.

My condolences to Julie Weisberg, whose pain I'm experiencing only a mere fraction of. I'm grateful for all the times she selflessly shared Arrow with me, not to mention the wonderful, happy life she provided for her boy. He had countless outdoor adventures, in countless places, with countless canine friends. And, most importantly, Julie absolutely prioritized him. He was loved and appreciated to the fullest degree. And, just knowing that is a great comfort.

Arrow (more than any animal I've ever known) taught me how to just sit still, silently and alone with him, for hours. The mutual contentment of just being TOGETHER was all that mattered in those moments. No distractions were needed. As I told anyone who'd listen to me at the time: "It was the best relationship of my life." And, I wasn't kidding.

RIP Sweet Arrow. Same as before, I can only hope to see you again.

Incredibly sad. I am actually unfamiliar with him and his work, but I was inspired to look at his Facebook feed after hearing of this. He seemed like an incredibly kind and good-natured person with a genuine love for comics and pop culture history. He just said goodbye to his beloved dog in December, so hopefully they're together on the other side.
