This is all I meant when the other day when I texted a female friend of mine "Wanna smash?" but then she got all mad.

As I was sipping my ground-bean coffee yesterday, a thought occurred to me as I viewed the above panel. I know the real answer, but was there an in-story reason why the Hulk would remain in Hulk form during calm scenes like this?

I remember that scene! Val wasn't much good at making coffee either. Son of Satan commented that even the Devil wouldn't be able to stand her coffee, and he'd presumably know.

They were probably using the same evil coffee pot that kept blowing up on Hellcat when she tried to use it. Coffee problems were kind of a running gag in that era of "Defenders."

Is it any wonder Hulk would rather smash? The coffee pot must have been on its best behavior that day, or IT would have been smashed, presumably along with the entire kitchen.

Not that I remember. The Hulk almost always stayed the Hulk in the Defenders unless the story needed Bruce Banner.
