I might be the only guy who posts here, but I ran across this cover while browsing and it is AWESOME! I love the guy's inking and textures here. Work of art.

I used to loathe his stuff, but in the last few years I've completely reversed my opinion of it.

I think his superheroes are over-contorted and ugly, but put him in an environment like the above, and its pure gold. I've always liked his inks.

I just read that run of The Shadow(minus the last issue), he works well with that material.

He was also the best Batman writer in the early 70's.

Not a favorite of mine, but he was good and had a distinctive style. I think he did a newspaper adventure strip called "Johnny Hazard" for some years, though I've never had a chance to see more than one or two examples of it.

Robbins' heavy Caniff influence just seems right for a strip like Invaders. Perfect casting.

Hermes Press has put out a book reprinting the first two years of Robbins' "Johnny Hazard" comic strip. It features some fine looking art, very different from his comic book work.He also spun some mighty good yarns. As for his comic book work, sometimes it's good;other times (particularly his work for Marvel) it looks like ersatz Kirby.
