Sony has announced Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 with a July 5, 2019 release date.

Another Ditko classic on the screen. These movies are mining about 12 months of work by Ditko.

Yeah, but to be fair, it's about the most fertile 12 months anyone in comics (except maybe Kirby) has ever produced - Ditko himself included! The first twenty or so Spider-Man comics are just unbelievably good for creation of villains/ideas/themes with staying power.

Kirby did the Inhumans, Galactus, Silver Surfer, and the Black Panther, in an 8 month span.

I've heard rumours, with the high caliber actors playing villains in the Homecoming series, that it may be a spring board for a Sinister Six spinoff. It would be a capital way to set it up and it could be MCU's answer to The Suicide Squad.

Makes sense, but I think they would need to move more quickly than six villains six Spider-Man movies.
But, all they probably need is three Spider-Man movies and three to four villains. At that point, they could
add whoever else they'd need by introducing them in the Sinister Six movie (and/or by recycling the villains
like Electro who have made movie appearance before Homecoming).

Oddly, enough, the corny name, Sinister Six, I think would fly quite well as a movie title these days.

Venom will get them one movie outside of the Spider-man sequels. They already have Vulture. This one will have Mysterio.

So that's 3, and the next Spider-man can introduce one or two, and as you say the Sinister Six movie itself could introduce one new one.

They could try to count the Shocker from the first one.

They can make it another heist film.

Scorpion was in post credits of homecoming. Possibly.

I still want to see the Rhino in full costume. None of that exo-skeleton crap.

There's been a lot of groupings of the Sinister Six (Seven, Twelve) over the years, but I do like the original pairing:
• Doc Ock
• Electro
• Mysterio
• Sandman
• Vulture
• Kraven

At least one of these (maybe two) should be replaced by a female character for a movie.

Just go with Black Cat, and at the movies end she sees the errors of her ways and turn good.

Venom is not part of the MCU, while the Holland Spider-Man movies are, though. So I doubt they would bring him in unless something changes. You know, like the Venom movie making a billion and Disney/Marvel and Sony make a new deal.
