Hachette Book Group wrote: By: Stan Lee and Steve Ditko Illustrated By: Steve Ditko ISBN: 9781302918750 Publisher: Marvel Imprint: Marvel On Sale: Aug. 27, 2019 Format: HARDCOVER BOOK Edition: N/A Price: $100.00 ($127.00 In Canada) Category: COMICS & GRAPHIC NOVELS Territories: Size: 7-1/4" X 10-7/8" Pages: 688 ISBN: EAN: 9781302918750 Description: Before Steve Ditko revolutionized comic book super-heroes with the Amazing Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, he applied his incomparable storytelling mastery to taught suspense-thrillers. These chilling stories were cast with nervous-eyed dreamers and sweaty-palmed schemers, none of whom make it out with getting theirs. They were parables of wrenching psychological tension, expressed by one of comic book's most unique creative minds, and they will leave you curled up and screaming for more-whether you like it or not! Marvel is honored to collect Ditko's complete stories of suspense in two beautifully restored Omnibus volumes. From his very first Marvel work in 1956 through to his last five-page masterpiece, every iconic Silver Age Ditko short is collected in these incomparable Omnibus editions.
COLLECTING: JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY (1952) 33, 38, 50-73, STRANGE TALES (1951) 46, 50, 67-91, TALES TO ASTONISH (1959) 1-26, TALES OF SUSPENSE (1959) 1-15, 17-24, STRANGE WORLDS (1958) 1-5, WORLD OF FANTASY(1956) 16-19, AMAZING ADVENTURES (1961) 1-6, JOURNEY INTO UNKNOWN WORLDS (1950) 45, 51, MYSTERY TALES (1950) 40, 45, 47, TWO-GUN WESTERN (1956) 4, WORLD OF SUSPENSE (1956) 2, MARVEL TALES (1949) 147, SPELLBOUND (1952) 29, STRANGE TALES OF THE UNUSUAL (1955) 5, ASTONISHING (1951) 53, WORLD OF MYSTERY (1956) 3, 6, BATTLE (1951) 63, GUNSMOKE WESTERN (1955) 66

A bit thin for a Marvel Omnibus (especially since they switched over to a thinner paper stock a few years ago) but a very welcome upcoming book from Marvel featuring Steve Ditko artwork. Books, actually, as the second volume has been confirmed as well.
Marvel previously released an Amazing Fantasy Omnibus (Amazing Adventures #1-6, Amazing Adult Fantasy #7–14, Amazing Fantasy #15), but that was close to ten years ago. This time around, it looks like they will split those Ditko stories between two volumes (along with Ditko's other non-super-hero Silver Age Marvel stuff).
Marvel's Atlas Era Masterworks program has been on hold indefinitely, so THIS is good news. They had stopped the Journey Into Mystery and Strange Tales Masterworks lines just as they were coming into the Kirby and Ditko Monster and Suspense goodness. These new Omnibus volumes will finally get to reprinting the uncollected Ditko material. As I hoped, the Kirby Monsterbus volumes must have done "well enough" for Marvel to warrant moving onto the Ditko material. And then—perhaps—since the Kirby and Ditko stories will have been restored by then, Marvel might be willing to start up again the Strange Tales and J.I.M. Masterworks. Most of the restoration costs will have been completed already, and this could help offset lower sales on future MWs. That's probably the only way we'll ever get to the Heck, Colan, etc. work collected from the same era. But, as the title on these volumes is Marvel's MASTERS of suspense, perhaps a third volume might also appear. This book was originally announced by Hatchett as Steve Ditko vol. 1, so there was the thought that maybe future volumes might feature Heck and Colan, but Stan Lee's name IS actually on these two books… so probably not.

Not to brag, but I snagged an unwrapped copy of this for all of $25 at a Books A Million. That's way cheaper than even Amazon lists for. Guess I am bragging...

What balances out the brag is that you are admitting you were at a Books-a-Million.
