New Mutants #1
Ah, the serious beginning of my comic book speculation phase. Bought something like 50 copies at 30¢ apiece
with free shipping from Westfield. Two or three years later, I traded 25 of those to a company called American Comics
for something like $200 of store credit, part of which I turned into about 100 copies of Eclipse's Miracleman #1, most
of which I traded back to them again a few years later for more store credit at about $5 apiece. Stopped doing the
speculation game about that same time.
I see New Mutants #1 is being offered on eBay these days for $25 - $50 an issue. I should probably move the rest.
Sounds like it could be a fun, promising film, too.

Good. Giving this kid The Stand was a bad idea. And Sony was sniffing around him for the next Spider-Man so this is probably Fox putting up a barricade to keep other studios away.

Timing seems odd -- just when they are getting to the part in the new X-Men series where Prof X is founding the school, bringing in Scott and Jean, fresh start, etc. This next X-movie is already going to feel a bit like "new mutants" coming in.

New Mutants should really be the TV series spinoff. Put Moira McTaggart in charge, train the new kids. Obliquely mention the X-Men, but that's it.

Apparently, these are the characters that will be appearing. Quote: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the team in the film, based on the early ’80s comic of the same name by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod, will include: “Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball, and Russian teen Magik. I have the inside scoop on the characters that will be the New Mutants. The movie will focus on the angst-driven adventures of a diverse group of teens that include Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball, and Russian teen Magik. Also in the mix will be an alien named Warlo
