Ringo Starr to guest star in 'The Powerpuff Girls'
Ringo Starr will guest star in an episode of The Powerpuff Girls.
The Beatles' drummer will voice a character called Fibonacco Sequins in the cartoon's one-off return to TV next month to mark its 15th anniversary. Sequins will be a "flamboyant mathematician" according to Time magazine. Ringo has also written an original song for the cartoon called 'I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl' along with a music video. His character is named after mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci, famed for coming up with a series of numbers known as the Fibonacci Sequence.
The original Powerpuff Girls series began in 1998 and ran until 2005, following the adventures of three kindergarten superheroes Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. They lived in Townsville, USA, and fought crime mainly caused by their monkey arch-enemy Mojo Jojo.
In the forthcoming special, Ringo's character will be kidnapped by Mojo. Once his initial plan has been foiled, he'll invent a sinister video game, "Dance Pants R-EVILution," in order to steal the elusive Chemical X and reign over the town. The special, titled 'Dance Pantsed' will air on January 20 on the Cartoon Network in the US.
I will watch this, maybe even when it first airs (will have to go to a friend's house since I don't have cable). The animation style is fine by me, but Craig McCracken's lack of involvement gives me no reason to think it will actually be good.
It was awful. The enemy was Mojo Jojo, and the best monologue was Blossom's and it wasn't even very good. Bubbles uses ice breath, but her special powers is the ability to talk to squirrels and speak Spanish.
Oh, my bad. I see that Amazon IS listing a complete Dexter on June 25th. I don't know if it's a reissue or not. I only ever saw the first season available on DVD before.
I am quite tempted to get both of these, but they're still a bit pricey.
Well as an avid DVD and Blu-Ray collector this is a fine how do you dowdy.

It's really not a huge problem- the Warner's issue was for discs produced in a certain factory about 15 years ago. It's been common knowledge amongst collectors for almost as long. I even own some discs from the bad batches and they still play fine. They may fail at some point, but... Those videos are alarmist click bait.

Anyway, they're basically the only way to have a movie or TV series and be sure you won't lose it when some streamer decides to pull the rug out from under its subscribers.

I buy the DVD/Blu-Rays and rip them to a hard drive and stream with Plex. The discs go back in the cases and stay there for good. I can watch all my stuff anywhere I am that has some kind of internet connection (or download them to a tablet/phone to watch offline). It's the only way to be sure, because like Daphne said, these streaming sites can and do take things away at a whim.
Warner fixed that issue with their DVDs near the end of the noughts (and it hadn't affected every release). Newer pressings have no such issues.
