Given who is making it, I'm hopeful. So far this looks good, if you like the Interplay/Bethesda games...



For those unfamiliar, Fallout is dystopian retrofuturism. The timeline diverges after WW2 where, in the Fallout version, nuclear power and robots are the premiere technologies while personal computers didn't develop very much. The world became stuck, culturally, in the 1950s right up until the year 2077, when China and the US went to war and the bombs fell. Most of the main characters in the Fallout games were "vault dwellers," ancestors of people who were spared the ravages of the fallout inside underground bunkers called "vaults." Many of the vaults, however, were designed more for inhuman experiments rather than merely preserving humanity.

Okay, I just put out a video that explains where the Fallout 4 "House of Tomorrow" came from, aesthetically speaking. It, along with all the homes in Sanctuary Hills, are based on the Lustron homes. Let's hear it for 50's retro-futurism!

Watched all eight episodes now since this debuted this week. I thought it was pretty good. It's ideally for people who haven't played the games BUT for those of us who have, it's great seeing this world in a different format. Every detail was perfect. I'm glad something associated with Bethesda finally got a "W."

If you like retro-futurism, and you already have Amazon Prime, I'd check it out.

Since I fall in the "haven't played the games" demographic and have Amazon Prime, I think I will check this out.
