HBO and Warner Bros. TV are teaming to produce a series based on Isaac Asimov's “Foundation” trilogy that will be written and produced by “Interstellar” writer Jonathan Nolan, multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.

I've been dying to talk about it.

Just finished the series and still digesting it. May have to watch again. Like The Witcher it is epic in time-line scale, here achieved through dynastic cloning and sleeper pods instead of ridiculously long lives. It has been ages since I read the series and a recent try to re-read was bogged down in misogynistic language and attitude - which does NOT transfer to the series. The result is I can't really say how true to the original tale it is, but it really doesn't matter as it is, well, epic. Looking forward to part two.

Spoiler: show
the fate of Azura Odili is gonna haunt me, no lie

And it only took seven years for it to happen.

How much does it adapt? First book? More?

Bannings: Bannings? We don't need no stinkin' bannings!
I watched the first several episodes, but then quit. It seemed to have very little relation to the books (and even seemed to have things antithetical to the concept of psychohistory, since it seemed like they would be relying on individuals with outlier abilities to save the day... exactly the kind of people psychohistory CAN'T deal with).

I watched the first episode and then flaked out. I was thinking about putting my mind to it.

Yes. I had an issue with that as well, with the example of Gaal being a part of the original equation that was missing, yet somehow happened anyway... She has a mystical connection to... the universe?
