I wonder how they'll keep Barry as the Flash, since Eddie's self-sacrifice means Reverse Flash was never born, meaning that Dr. Wells won't be killed and Barry will never become Flash. I'm sure they'll come up with something.

They'll have to address all of the timeline issues, which I'm guessing they'll do with one blanket statement from Rip Hunter or someone. Flash gets made either way (whether it's Wells or Zoom/Wells). But all of Season One is wrong if they go with a corrected timeline.

If Wells is not killed than he founds Star Labs and in 2020 the Particle Accelerator accident happens. Thawne just moved it up to 2015 But..honestly the time travel on this show is super inconsistant And anyway, there is the whole Paradox. If Eddie kills himself, Eobard is never born and never travels back so Eddie never needs to kill himself so Eobard is born and comes back and eddie kills himself and on and on and on So, I think they will just ignore it rather than do a big redo..

Did a recent marathon of viewing for this show over the last week, and finally wrapped Season 1 up over the weekend. Definitely one of my favorite shows. Looking forward to what Season 2 brings...ESPECIALLY after that little nugget came through the wormhole!

At the 41st Annual Saturn Awards in Burbank, California last night, we had a chance to chat with The Flash stars Grant Gustin and Candice Patton. Gustin, who plays the title character, was in attendance to receive the Breakthrough Performance Award - his first acting award - and stopped to talk about his time in The CW series. After admitting that he grew up a fan of Christopher Reeve's Superman, he teased that season two of The Flash would be introducing "a really cool big bad that will be revealed [almost] immediately," and that he will be part of the Legends of Tomorrow spin-off right out of the gates. That's three superhero films for Gustin this season; not bad!
Patton was a little more reserved, but had nothing but positive things to say about working on the show, her reaction to acting opposite Grant in the the costume, her favorite villains from season one, and where Iris might be going in season two. Check out our video interviews with the both of them below.
Comic-Con 2015: The Flash adds Jay Garrick, Patty Spivot in season 2 BY NATALIE ABRAMS • @NATALIEABRAMS
Posted July 12 2015 — 12:10 AM EDT
Teddy Sears and Shantel VanSanten have joined the cast of The Flashas DC comic book characters in season 2, it was announced during Saturday’s Comic-Con panel.
Sears (Masters of Sex) will play Jay Garrick, well known as the first DC Comics character to take on the mantle of The Flash. In the TV show, Jay is a mysterious figure who arrives in Central City to warn Barry Allen and his team at STAR Labs of an impending danger that he along cannot hope to stop.
“Having Jay Garrick come onto the show was one of our earliest ideas,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. “It is so exciting, as we rush into season 2, that we finally get to bring the Crimson Comet to life. We couldn’t imagine anyone more suited to play the original Flash than Teddy.”
Meanwhile, VanSanten (One Tree Hill, The Messengers) will play Patty Spivot, a more recent addition to The Flash’s comic book history. Patty is a police officer and science enthusiast who catches the eye of Barry Allen. Patty is obsessed with metahumans and partners with Det. Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) this season, but has no idea that her new crush is The Flash.
“We were huge fans of The Messengers and are excited to have Shantel join us to help complicate Barry Allen’s love life in season 2,” said Kreisberg.
'The Flash' Casts Michael Ironside as Captain Cold's Father
The Snart family is getting a little bigger.
CW's The Flash has cast veteran actor Michael Ironside as Lewis Snart, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. He is the estranged, abusive father of villains Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Lisa Snart/Golden Glider (Peyton List).
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as Lewis is described as cold-blooded, ruthless career criminal. Recently released from prison, he returns to Central City with a plan that will endanger both of his children. In the comics, not much is known about the Snart patriarch other than the fact that he was so abusive to his son — the future Captain Cold — that the boy spent more time with his grandfather who ran an ice truck.
Ironside will guest star in episode 203, entitled "Family of Rogues." Miller and List will also be in the episode as their villainous alter egos.
Ironside is recognizable from numerous film credits, including Top Gun, Starship Troopers and Total Recall. He's also stepped into the comic book world before, voicing characters in animated versions of Batman, Superman, Justice League, Wolverine and X-Men. He also played Lois Lane's father in three episodes of Smallville.
The Flash is poised to introduce a world's worth of heroes and villains in season two, which will delve into the mythos of DC Comics' Earth-Two — an alternate world featuring different characters. Miller's Captain Cold will appear in Arrow/The Flash spinoff Legends of Tomorrow, which is set to premiere early next year. At Comic-Con, the producers said the first few episodes of Arrow and The Flash this season would help put the characters from the spinoff in play to make them available for the Legends.
Ironside is repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Insight.
The Flash returns for season two Oct. 6 on the CW at 8 p.m.
The upcoming, second season of The CW's The Flash will feature former WWE Superstar Adam Copeland as Atom-Smasher, ComicBook.com has learned and CW has confirmed exclusively.
He will appear in the season premiere, currently filming, and contrary to what the name might suggest, he's not on the good guys' side. Here's how The CW describes his character:
"One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him."
In the comics, Atom-Smasher is a hero. Al Rothstein, grandson to the villain Cyclotron, is godson to Al Pratt, the Golden Age hero known as The Atom before Ray Palmer took on the name. Prior to becoming Atom-Smasher, Rothstein operated as Nuklon.
During The Flash executive producer Geoff Johns' time on JSA, Rothstein briefly took on a vengeful and unhinged personality following the murder of his mother, eventually traveling back in time to save her. That storyline seems like it has a lot of potential given the over-arching story of The Flash last year.
At Comic-Con International: San Diego last weekend, producers said that while the particle accelerator explosion had been the main source for introducing powered characters in the show's first season that it would be Earth-2 providing many such characters this time around. It stands to reason that Rothstein's connections to Earth-2 staples the JSA and Infinity, Inc. will be explored.
That Rothstein was one of a number of DC characters named as having died during the particle accelerator explosion -- a list that also included Ronnie Raymond, who later returned as Firestorm -- also throws into question whether we might see some of those characters re-emerge as their superheroic selves soon.
The Flash returns to Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on The CW in October.
One of the other characters listed as a casualty from the particle accelerator explosion? ...Mr. Ralph Dibny.
Edge is a cool guy. I've briefly met him a few times in Toronto. Nothing much more than a hi but all I've seen of him in person and heard from others has always made him one of my favourites. Nice to see him getting more acting roles.
Well since they killed off the faux-Wells at the end of Season 2, we haven't seen how they're going to resolve the changes to the timeline. I imagine the real Wells will probably be around running Star.
