I wish it were white, with a blue 4 and circle, but not bad...of course as always for me it all hinges on whether it's Galactus or "Gah Lak Tus" in the movie.

I would prefer white/silver/grey... but that's my only quibble.

Jeff - From what I've read online (yeah, yeah, I know....) it's to be Gah-Lak-Tus. The big purple guy was a character for which the movie world was not yet ready. Why this is so, I'm not sure. Maybe they were worried it would remind people of King Kong or something.

Galactus and Dr Doom are by far my favorite comic villains (although villain is a stretch with Galactus). They've already screwed up Doom. How can the world not be ready for an awesome figure with a name like "Galactus: Devourer of Worlds"?
Image

Plus, he was recently featured as a major character in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance game (and seems to be set up as the main villain for a sequel). I'd love to see FF 49-50 brought to the screen. I wish FF1 had been, well, FF1! Save Doom for a sequel and do it right. I need to be in charge of these films.

There's no way he is going to be a big guy with a purple helmet. I can't see people making that decision.

Then they should do the Mole Man or something else. Or make a movie that isn't called "Fantastic Four", since the source material is obviously so crappy and silly. (am I turning too grumpy?)

Look, what do I know. When I say these things, it tends to happent that just at that moment he director, in this case Tim Story is telling a reporter "It's absolutely going to be a big guy in a purple helmet. We all made that decision together."

It's just when I heard Galactus, I thought "radical redesign." Or even just a voice.

to do it right, you'd need to have some budget.

it's funny because those who I had talked to who had seen FF 1 and had no previous knowledge of Doom, liked the characetr. Those of us who know what the character is supposed to be were naturally disappointed. I'm hearing that doom's back and a LOT more powerful this time, which makes me think we'll see him try and steal the Surfer's power. And I really don't mind how they spell the big G's name as long as, you know, he's a devourer of worlds and it's pronounced "Galactus" in some form.

The spelling isn't really what I meant. I was referring to the Ultimate version of Galactus, which is apparently a horde of sentient robots, which is called "gah lak tus" in the book. That's what I don't want to see.

I hope Galactus is made out of cheese.

Kingslydale!

... and he's taken down by the Ultimate Nullifer as created by Wallace (of... & Grommitt fame).

As lame as the photocomics that used to appear in Wizard could be, I did like the one where it was revealed that the Silver Surfer was filled with delicious popcorn!

Oh, and I dig this Fantasticar design!

...strange that they went with gold instead of blue/silver, but then presumably that makes it stand out from the Silver Surfer better.

Nope. And it's not really purple per se. More of a purple-ish/pink-ish hue.

And he wears roller skates. No surf board.
