Although the 5 years later was a mixed bag, the final issues were pretty great. My jaw actually did drop with the Cosmic Boy/Trapper reveal.

I went with the Fatal Five. Such a great group of unique characters and personalities, without just being mirrored clones of the Legion members, a la LSV.
I will say that at the time I was reading Legion regularly as a child, the Composite Superman had my choice for most powerful villain in the DCU.

I went with Fatal Five also, but I have to say the four-part Universo Project from 1987 is one of my favorite LSH stories.
