I just saw a similar question posted on Facebook, and I got to thinking… and I'm not sure what I would choose.
I suspect that my choice would would change depending on my current mood, etc.

Still… why not make a discussion out of it on IMWAN? We probably have before, but let's go again here. I would
suggest though, that instead of naming just one, we could also mention at least a few shows we might like and why.

Also, I think it should be part of this discussion is that Season X+1 (where X is the number of the final season) would
have to be similar in nature to the previous season(s), that is, if the show in question averaged six episodes a season
or 22, etc.), then that's probably the number of episodes--and approximate same budget spent--that the "extra" season
would probably be getting. And the extra season probably should slot into the year right after cancellation.

As an example, I've mentioned before that I would have liked to have seen Batman 1968-69 on a new network. I would
have enjoyed seeing it played a little more adult, mainly featuring Bruce and Barbara as the new Dynamic Duo, but also
featuring some tie-in and solo Robin at college storylines. I don't think it would have gone back to the twice a week schedule,
but possibly it could have been a full hour once a week. Possibly introduce some Teen Titans (possible spin-off).

Still… Batman '69 would likely not be my final choice for a show to get an extended season. I would have really liked it, though.

That got two seasons, right? Yeah, a third would be nice. Same with Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Easy choice for me would be a favorite like Cheers, but I can admit it was kind of running on fumes after 11 years, plus I have almost 300 episodes already to enjoy.

So I'm going to throw a curve ball and say another 6 episodes of Clerks: The Animated Series.

Deadwood is an obvious choice. It got ended mid story.

Same thing with the cartoon ReBoot---fans have been left hanging for years.

Yeah, any decent-enough series that didn't get a chance to finish up it's main story line certainly deserves at least a final hour-long episode.

But, I have to wonder if some shows that I would like to have more of DID HAVE ENOUGH. Would a 5th season of Monty Python's
Flying Circus really shine, or was had it definitely run it's course? We got the feature movies, so we did get more. I find the original
Star Trek to be in the same sort of boat: we got the movies.

Off the top of my head, I really would have loved to have gotten even a few more The Middle Man episodes. (A fine comic book-based
2008 series that only ran twelve episodes.). Most the then current comic book material had been milked, but it really deserved an extra
movie or something to close off the storyline.

And I know lots of people who definitely wanted another season of Firefly.

Legion of Super-Heroes was another 2 season cartoon. The tone of the show darkened between seasons as the Legionnaires aged. Any 3rd. season would've hopefully kept the Legionnaires from aging any further,or the show from going any darker. It would've featured more of the other Legionnaires and less of Superboy. Maybe the Boy of Steel would make an appearance when the Legion made a visit to Superboy's time;a remake of the first Mordru story,or some shenanigans with the Time Trapper.

Kevin Conroy once said that Batman:TAS stopped production because they ran out of ideas. It was probably the right call. I would argue the same about Justice League Unlimited,or Batman Beyond.
SCTV as well---half the cast had already left, and probably half the writers too.Their final shows kept up the high standards of their old work,no sense in pressing their luck.
The Odd Couple---5 fine seasons already in the can, wise to end it there.

Excellent choice. There were some loose ends left over from the abrupt cancellation.

And the show itself was dope AF.

Maybe a second season of "The Defenders," just eight episodes like the first one -- which they could have used to wrap up the loose threads left from the cancelled Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and DD shows.

Thundercats 2011 needed a second season to resolve its storyline. Granted, the creators had pissed on the original Thundercats to make it theirs, but ... as a magpie, I am attracted to Hollywood's pretty and shiny things and so I was happy to let them win again.

Hmmm… that might have been a good solution to finish them all off.

Superman:TAS--if you know anything about the show, the last story left the Man of Steel in a state of fear and mistrust from the public,a place he should never be.

Apparently, the original Quantum Leap never got closure either.

I watched one episode of the new Quantum Leap. They'll probably get to it. I gave up on it, though, after one episode.

I have, however, enjoyed it when some shows have come back after a very long time, such as Mad About You, which
had a decent return. I would have watched even more of the older Paul and Jamie, but this one extra short season was
enough, I guess. I wasn't a big fan of how it had ended the first time around.

The first thing that jumped into my mind. The wrap up that was shown a couple of years ago felt truncated.

Firefly. An extra season would double the number of available episodes. I would be interested to see if it held up.

Final episode of Quantum Leap is heartbreaking. I loved it.

The revival is good, not great. But hey, TNG started out mediocre. I'm keepin' the faith.

I'm shocked that Doot hasn't mentioned Smallville.
