Do multiple people wear the costume?

If not then it's not a uniform, by pure definition, something Mr Byrne has never denied.

Since I wouldn't say multiple people wear it (though I guess you could argue that she just wears the same costume as Captain Marvel), then it's a costume.

It annoys me that so many people get annoyed by the "uniform/costume" thing without having the foggiest what it's really about.

It's a costume, since she wears it, and a uniform. The shared motif will classify it as a uniform. But it is also a costume. The terms are not exclusive.

Uniform is okay -- it is uniform in that it presents a uniform appearance everytime he dons it. If he has more than one, they all look the same, presenting a uniform appearance. He presents a "single form" of himself when he is in character, with no variation like a civilian who varies his outfit.

It's freaky to freak out over costume, but don't go the other way on "uniform." It works just fine.

First, multiple people wear the uniform. Maybe one has a skirt and one has a blue base, but multiple people wear it.

Secondly, at early points in his career, Byrne has used the term uniform for characters that are the unique wearers of their outfits.

It's an action suit.

There's a good possibility. Brad Bird went back to Pixar last year, ostensibly to begin work on one. Soon afterwards, though, he was asked to take over from Jan Pinkava as director of this summer's "Ratatouille." Theoretically, he should be back at work on a sequel to "The Incredibles" later this year. Let's hope so.
