Disney Plans 'Wreck-It Ralph' Sequel for 2018
Walt Disney animation is gonna wreck-it … again!
The animation studio has unveiled a sequel to Wreck-It Ralph that will hit theaters March 9, 2018.
Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore and screenwriter Phil Johnston made the announcement via a Facebook Live video on the Disney page.
Also on hand for the big reveal was Wreck-It Ralph star John C. Reilly. "We are announcing Wreck-It Ralph? But I already announced that by accident," said Reilly in the video while wearing imitation Ralph hands. "Yes, several times," replied Moore.
In the 2012 original, Reilly played Ralph, the misunderstood villain in an eight-bit video game who decides to change his persona and become the "good guy." Reilly and Sarah Silverman, who played the wise-cracking Vanellope von Schweetz, will both return for the sequel.
Moore and Johnston recently worked together on Walt Disney's last animation release, Zootopia, and will continue their partnership for the video game-inspired sequel.
Although the duo did not reveal plot or character details in the video announcement, in an interview with Collider, Moore talked about how the sequel will see Ralph break the internet.
Walt Disney animation will next release Moana, the South Pacific-set adventure story about a young Polynesian girl and the ancient demi-god Maui, which hits theaters Nov. 23 of this year.
Following Moana will be the release of the Wreck-It Ralph sequel, after which the studio's Jack and the Beanstalk retelling Gigantic will open in theaters on Nov. 21, 2018.

There are a few Pixar movies I'm either indifferent about or actively dislike. WALL*E did nothing for me, Cars was okay but I could take or leave it; I just don't find the idea of talking automobiles interesting. I really disliked The Good Dinosaur. Nice scenery but, wow, what a lousy story.

A bad Pixar movie is like a pizza that wasn't left in the oven long enough. Yeah, I can still eat it, but you just know it had the potential to be better than it is.

The Good Dinosaur was particularly disappointing because I'd been hoping for a Pixar dino movie for a while. It wasn't only the story; the character designs were also uninspired (or just bad).
