A few years ago, a friend of mine was chatting with someone from LA, commenting on the fact that, at the time, WANnipeg was the murder capital of Canada. There had been about 46 murders in the city in the previous year.

The person from LA said that she thought it was 'cute' that Winnipeg had a murder count
