Watching Bridge of Spies and I dig it.

What else is good out there? Looking for historical stuff, not From Russia With Love or whatever.

Ice Station Zebra (1968)

With Rock Hudson and Patrick McGoohan. It's kind of a pre-Tom Clancy techno-thriller. It concerns a struggle over an Arctic research base where a spy satellite full of very valuable data has crashed. Not exactly historical, but it is said to have been loosely inspired by real events. And the borderline science-fictional satellite and nuclear submarine systems depicted really did exist, and really did play an important role in the Cold War.

Fail-Safe makes a perfect bookend to Dr. Strangelove--one a nail-biting thriller, the other a brilliant black comedy. Neither based on real events, though.

Indeed.

Maybe Choose A Few From This List, As Well:

The Hunt For Red October,
Blast From the Past,
The Right Stuff,
The Shoes of the Fisherman,
Stripes,
Wargames,
North by Northwest,
Crimson Tide,
Rocky IV,
Spies Like Us,
The Bedford Incident,
By Dawn's Early Light,

and some other notables, but ones I probably wouldn't rewatch.

You really have to break this down into movies made during the Cold War, and then movies made afterwards. And does it have to be primarily Yanks vs Commies, or does general life behind the Iron Curtain appeal to you?

For the latter, Matthew Vaughn wrote and produced a really underrated movie called The Debt from 2010.

Gorky Park is a good murder mystery thriller, but it's also an unusual Hollywood film from the 80s that tried to describe what the average person (and above average) lived like in pre-Gorbachev Russia.

Dr. Strangelove is the best satire film about the Cold War, from both the Soviet and US perspective.

My personal favorite Cold War movie is The Hunt for Red October.

And, of course, I suspect you have already seen the greatest Cold War movie ever made:

Gotcha

1985 film that I thought was cheesy but very good at the same time. Lots of action in East Berlin.
