This fan-made "opening credits sequence" is pretty cool!

Bannings: I'm judging you.
I want to like this show.

I really do.

And, quite often, when I watch it, I enjoy it.

....

It's just...it's just...I dunno. I just don't seem to get into it. Not like Heroes anyway.

Which is too bad, 'cause those last couple of shots in that promo were awesome.

I'm just positive that I'll forget about it tomorrow, and not even notice when it finally comes out.

I like Smallville a lot. It's fun. It's just superheroes without the costu....sorry...uniforms. It's an enjoyable show. Besides, Alison Mack is cute, and there's kryptonite and stuff. I know it's essentially 'Superman 90210', but I can live with that.

Awesome episode. Simply awesome. I'd bet cash money that this was an unofficial pilot for a "Justice" show to replace "Smallville" when it ends.

I watched tonight knowing about the JL factor. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Otherwise, I really havent watched much Smallville.....too much soap opera "OC" stuff for me.

I assume the kid on the left is the Flash?

Looks like some weird male fashion show to me. ;-)

He's Bart Allen, and for now, he's Impulse. The others did use the names Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Cyborg as code-names during the episode. (Since Clark wasn't officially part of the team, for communication purposes he was code-named "Boy Scout." His friend Chloe back at Oliver Queen's HQ was code-named "Watchtower. :) )

And next week, yet another DCU hero will appear, one who we only got a glimpse of last fall....

Nope, that's Impulse.

They introduced a character named "Bart Allen" who sort of combined all of the Flashes into one (using "Wally West" and "Jay Garrick" as pseudonyms), in this episode he was code-named "Impulse", he'll probably become the Flash eventually however.

Is Chloe based on an actual DC universe character, or is she a Smallville creation?

Chloe Sullivan is a Smallville creation, but a great character nonetheless. Allison Mack has really grown as an actress as the show has progressed. Kurt Busiek has said he'd like to introduce a DCU version of Chloe.

I was curious. I don't much watch the show, just glance over while the wife is watching it, but that's been enough to pick up on stuff. I'd agree, Chloe seems like a great character. It would be interesting to see outside media once again influence "real" Superman, something that has been happening for decades and decades.

Allison Mack was asked about that in a recent interview at Comics Continuum.

The Continuum: There's been a lot of talk about Chloe becoming a character in the comic books.

Mack: I do believe DC purchased my image already. I don't know if that's actually true, but I believe Chloe is owned by DC now. The idea that if anybody plays this character in the future in some other projects, they'll have to look like me or have a likeness of me is really cool. Really cool.

Yeah, some major factors in the comics came from other media; Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, kryptonite, Inspector Henderson, and no doubt many others I don't remember at this moment. :)

Have any of the new villains from the Dini/Timm animated series popped up in the comics? I'm pretty sure that Livewire and Luminus debuted in the cartoon, just to name two.

It may be true that the comic version will look like Allison. But whether future actresses on TV or in the movies will look like her, well somebody show here the comic images of Lana Lang and Pete Ross.
