All right I know I'm not the only person who got hooked by the pilot?

Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mcconaughey are both brilliant leads. Mcconaughey is especially spellbinding as a borderline insane detective trying to catch a serial killer.

Epic Win.

These two characters somehow embody the two sides of my personality. I am both of them.

Great first episode. Hardly any ridiculous Louisiana accents. Plenty of shoutouts to the towns around here, including my parents' birthplace, my hometown newspaper, and Woody's character played baseball at my college! And a Don Yesso sighting (the State Trooper was the New Orleans native that had the role on that Frank's Place series on CBS in the 80's... He's now a fitness instructor here in Baton Rouge).

McConaughy is freaking amazing.

Hails yeah Matt was the man! I never realized he was a good actor until I saw his performance.

By the way Rob is this based on actual events? The way you wrote it comes across that way?

Nah, it's just nice (after True Blood) to see an HBO series that doesn't make up Louisiana towns and accents and doesn't play havoc with geography.

We were talking about this at work -- True Blood feels like a giant soundstage designed by a sophomore scenery design major who was told "do Louisanna."

This show had such expansive spaces, so many authentic outdoor shots where the horizon is used to effect, it really conveyed a mood.

Loved that whenever the dialogue and McConaughy became too ridiculous, Woody would step in to say, "Shut up."

I could watch McConaughy's present day character being interrogated for an hour each week.

And my favorite new phrase is, "You're a smartass even with your mouth closed."

Forget Wonder Woman I want her to play the Invisible Girl/Woman. Just dye her hair blond and she already has the eyes for the role.

The series also has a Latina hooker. I assumed you folks were picking her as Sue.

Good episode.

First outrageous faux Cajun accent sighted.

Woody Harrelson must have mandatory sex scenes written into his contract.

If I was as "Woody" as he is 24 hours a day, I would.
