Anyone that says they've never considered what they'd do if swarming undead hordes started devouring the neighborhood....well, those peope are lying.
So, what's your gameplan?

I have considered. If it was "Running Zombies"...surviving the first 24 hours would be due to luck.I would stick to travelling by rooftops, slowly, meeting up with people and try to come up with a game plan.I live in place that can get pretty cold in wintertime,I would be curious to see what happens to Zombies, if you hoze them with water, just before a big freeze.
I would try to survive, but not at all cost. I would pretty much try to help who I could.I would probably raid the Medieval store near here and grab some chainmail.Start small, secure the area ,then come up with a bigger plan.Get in touch with some surviving eggheads at the University would probably be a good idea.

Get a flamehtrower. I have no idea how to one, and I'm sure they're incredibly dangerous, but they'd have to be handy in the face of zombies.
That chainmail idea of Steve's is pretty good thinking, though. If they can't bite you, that's half your problems solved in one go.

I'd like to think I'd make a daring stand and be a hero.
But more than likely, I'd just curl up in the fetal position and be killed.

Run down to the nearby shopping mall. Loot the place. Run back home. Ask one of the neighbours a floor or two above if they don't mind me crashing there (I'd lock my self in my apartment if it wasn't on the ground floor with plenty of windows to get in through).
And wait for the whole thing to blow over...

You and your zombies Jase!
They are no problem - even I could outrun 'em and their bits are constantly dropping off, its probably like being savaged by a raggedy ann, you don't have to believe everything you see at the movies.
If youre that worried just smear your naked body with hot chilli sauce and pray that they're not big Tex Mex cuisine fans

Just to be clear - these are slow moving zombies, not bullshit running zombies.
And hey, everyone should be allowed to have one stupid irrational fear - mine just happens to involve being devoured by zombies.

Fucking depressing avatar, dude...
I'd try to make my way to some center of commerce - a box store, grocery store, or even, yes, a mall. (No, I don't learn from the movies.) After all, you'll need food, you'll need supplies, you'll need all sorts of stuff. If the place isn't overrun you might be able to bunker down in there, though a better choice would be to swipe a truck, load it with what you can, and find a secluded house somewhere. There is a walled in mansion not too far from me. If I could get the gates open, that would be a solid place to go. Smaller is better (easier to defend), but you hope you can be beyond notice that way.
I'd make sure I have a handgun on me at all times ... not for shooting zombies, but for shooting myself if I start to get mauled.
From there, all you can do is live as long as you can, and hope to find someone else alive during your excursions out into the world. After all, when the zombies start to come, there is no stopping them*.
*Actually, that never made sense to me. You get bit by a zombie, you turn into one, right? But most of the zombies are busy chowing down on people. If they're busy eating people, there won't be all that many bodies left to turn into new zombies. The plague would mostly be limited to that first batch of undead plus maybe 50 percent more.

Damn, man. That's straight out of my wheelhouse. Ever since I can remember, I've had a recurring nightmare regarding zombies. It happens maybe 3 times a year, sometimes more. It's not the same dream every time. Sometime they get me, sometimes not, sometimes I save my loved ones, sometimes I'm the only one left alive. It is fucked up with a capital fucked.
This thread scares the living crap out of me. I'll probably have the zombie dream again tonight.

My brother showed me Night of the Living Dead when I was five years old. So I don't go to funerals, hospitals freak me out, and I've never set foot in a cemetary.

One of my uncles died when I was a kid, and we went to the funeral home for a viewing. My mom, a couple aunts, and a cousin and I went into the viewing room to look at him, and I stood there transfixed, having never seen a dead person before. After a moment or two I turned around and saw that all of my relatives were out of the room, down a short hallway in a lobby. I just absolutely froze in position, thinking my uncle was going to jump up and grab my arm

GET TO AN OIL RIG OFF SHORE
THEY CAN'T GET TO IT, UNLESS THEY'RE SMART OR GET ON BOARD A SHIP THAT HAPPENS TO TAKE THEM THERE, BUT EVEN IF THEY DO GET THERE, THEY AIN'T GETTING UP TO THE PLATFORM UNLESS SOMEONE UP THERE LETS THEM ON, PRETTY WELL DEFENDABLE TOO, WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A HELICOPTER TO MAKE RUNS TO THE MAINLAND FOR SUPPLIES! YOU COULD ACTUALLY SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT WITHOUT FEAR OF THEM GETTING TO YOU.
YES, I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS WAY TO MUCH!!!!

You'd just have to worry about salt water corroding everything on the rig, and hurricanes, and probably some sort of insane sea monsters, and maybe flying pirranha.

If you attached a spike type thingie to a rake ..............and the the Zombie stepped on the rake, would the resulting hole from the the spike hitting its forehead be enough to stop it? This works well enough on live people, but I've never been able to try it on a zombie.
