My favorite, I think.

In fact, I've only even liked a few strips in my life -- Calvin and Hobbes, The Far Side, Overboard, Dilbert. Maybe some others.

But Calvin was my original "trade paperback" favorite -- I read the eponymous first one, Something Under the Bed is Drooling and Yukon Ho! about 20 times each.

EASILY my favorite. Easy. Nothing else, not even my beloved Peanuts, is even close.

Overboard....is that the pirate one? Man, I'm with you on three of those four, but I gotta say Overboard left me cold. What am I missing?

Absolutely my favorite comic strip. Just genius from start to finish.

Yes, pirates. I liked it at one time, meaning I used to read it in the paper. I think it kind of jumped the shark and the papers dropped it. But there was a time in college when my friends and I were reading it. It was water cooler stuff.

If I can find a good one archived on the net I will post it. But it's one of those with a surreal voice, that you have to read a while to pick up.

Peanuts and Calvin are tied in my head forever. They are both some of the most original, best humor ever.

Nothing surpasses these two. There, I've made a rule.

:ohyes: I have to add the Far Side to the short list of brilliance, but even it doesn't approach the level of these two. There are many strips that I've enjoyed over the years, but nothing beats Peanuts and C&H.

Sorry. I can't stand Peanuts.

It's a problem of mine.

Anyone who does not love the first two to four years of Peanuts has no soul.

Which part? The moralizing diatribes?

...

oh, wait, there were no other parts.

Nevermind.

Actually, Snoopy was much cooler back then.

I may be off the hook -- never read them.

Except we had some textbooks when I was a kid that sprinkled some in, and we thought they were great.

Everything seems better when you are bored at school.

That may be the most perfect single comic strip ever.
